Deep tissue Massage:
This is a systematic approach to palpation and treatment of each muscle group. Each muscle is treated from one tendinous attachment to the other so nothing is missed. Deep tissue massage can break down scar tissue and re-align muscle fibers. Hydrotherapy may also be effective with the application of heat as a pre-treatment and/or cold for when more aggressive treatments are used in order to reduce inflammation
Trigger point Massage:
A trigger point is a hyperirritable spot, usually within a taut band of muscle. It is point tender on site, often exhibiting a predictable pain referral pattern. This massage is more methodical and specific. The focus is on finding ropy bands and treating the trigger point within these taut bands. Trigger points are known to be the cause of headaches, numbing and tingling of the wrist and fingers even muscle weakness.
Pregnancy: Massage:
can be done anytime from conception to postpartum. Benefits include reducing strain and discomfort in the back, reducing fluid retention and increasing circulation of blood which in-turn delivers nutrients to you and your baby.
Sports massage:
A variety of massage techniques can help with prevention and treatment of sports injuries such as tendinitis, muscle strains and ligament sprains. Post event massage focuses on relaxation with the goal of easing pain and soreness and reducing inflammation. The gently kneading and flushing strokes improves circulation which speeds up the removal ‘Of lactic acid that ‘can make you sore.

Licensed Massage Therapist
specializing in deep tissue, trigger points and sports massage as well as prevention and treatment of numerous medical conditions.
Ione is a graduate of Professional Institute of Massage Therapy of Winnipeg, MB. This is a 2 year 2200 hour program that focuses on advanced massage training. Since Ione graduated in 2009 she has had a private practice and teaches classes at the Inland Massage Institute in WA.
Northern Idaho has much to offer for the adventurous. During my time away from the office and teaching I enjoy mountain and road biking. There are miles of amazing single track trails and paved trails within a short drive. Including the Hiawathia Bike Trail for a beautiful adventure.
When I’m not on two wheels I enjoy hiking and backpacking with our two dogs. No matter if its a day hike or a multi-day trip the options are endless.
Winter time here brings a whole different range of fun adventures.
Snowboarding, snowmobiling and back-country skiing keep us busy.
